Hello Parents and Volunteers,

Announcements:

  • Morning Star Choir: is your child in the K-5th grade class in Macungie or 5-10 years old in Bethlehem? We’re encouraging them to participate in the Morning Star Choir that will perform on Dec 10th and Dec 24th.  If you’re in Macungie, please contact Josephine Young with any questions. If you’re in Bethlehem, please contact Leah Kilman with any questions.

We’re starting Unit 25 – THE WARNINGS OF JESUS –  and will be learning this through Sunday, November 26th. Watch a brief overview herehttps://youtu.be/NSSbt6MQRPY

Our memory verse for this unit is: “The Lord your God will raise for you a a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him.” Deuteronomy 18:15

Last week (Oct 22, 2023), we finished Unit 24 with a Big Picture lesson about how THE WORLD IS AGAINST GOD. We read Ephesians 6.

  • KEY PASSAGE: Isaiah 53:3
  • BIG PICTURE QUESTIONWhy do people reject Jesus? People reject Jesus because all people are born with a sin nature and want to please themselves rather than obey God.
  • CHRIST CONNECTION: Paul told believers to be ready to fight a spiritual battle every day. People and powers who are against God will be against us too. But Jesus died and rose from the dead. He had victory over evil. We can fight the battle against evil, knowing Jesus already won the war.

This week (Oct 29, 2023), we will learn that PEOPLE WELCOMED JESUS AS KING by reading Matt 21, Mark 11, Luke 19, or John 12.

  • KEY PASSAGE: Deuteronomy 18:15
  • BIG PICTURE QUESTIONHow is Jesus the perfect prophet? Jesus perfectly reveals God the Father and fulfills what the prophets spoke.
  • CHRIST CONNECTION: Jesus is the Messiah spoken about by the prophet Zechariah: “Look, your King is coming to you; He is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey” (Zechariah 9:9). One day, Jesus will return to earth on a white horse as King over everything.
