Welcome to Church

Thanks for taking the time to take a look around. We hope you will find that we strive to be an authentic community of believers committed to know and follow Jesus. We take the scriptures and our faith seriously, and, we’d say, a lot more seriously than we take ourselves. We know we aren’t perfect but we’re all working out our salvation together with love, grace, and mercy.

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, we want to help you live out the abundant life Jesus promises when we’re deeply connected to God, each other and our communities. Gathering together for corporate worship, prayer and teaching, getting together in small groups, as well as outreach to serve the needs of our community are all vital to our health and growth. So if you join us, you know what to expect because we’ll be doing these things together! That’s what we mean by The Power of a Connected Life.

Numbers 10:29  – “…come with us and we will do you good…”

What to Expect at a Sunday Service

Our services are approximately 90 minutes. We desire to be welcoming and trust the Holy Spirit to draw people to Him.  As a body of believers, we strive to reflect the attitude and love of Christ in our lives. We recognize that it is only by God’s grace that we can know and live for him, and we gratefully embrace the gift of the Holy Spirit within us who empowers us to live out our commitment to both the Lord and each other.

Wondering what to wear? NC4 started in the living rooms of homes throughout the Lehigh Valley. You’ll notice that casual, more relaxed atmosphere is still a part of our culture. You’ll see some who like to get more dressed up and others who don’t. Wear what’s comfortable for you, and you’ll fit right in.

A healthy representation of the family of God as seen in His church includes ALL ages. You’ll notice kids are welcome and encouraged to participate in worship with their families. Children are welcome to dance, sing, clap whether at their seats or up front with their parents. You’ll also see youth are serving in various capacities: worship team, tech team, Sunday School teachers and assistants, or even as greeters.

  • Our children’s Sunday school program, NC4 Kids, from 6 months through Middle School, is designed to help them grow and develop their faith. High Schoolers stay in service to hear the sermon, aside from the 4th Sunday of the month when they have Breakfast Club. See YOUTH page for more details.
  • Children are checked in for Sunday school using our electronic systems in the lobby (Bethlehem) or hallway (Macungie) either before service or during the mid-service break when they are dismissed to Sunday School.

Our time together starts with worship. Our live music team helps us connect to God through singing and expressing our praise and adoration. Far beyond entertainment, worship is how we prepare to hear the message from the Bible and respond to what God is saying to us through his word.

We believe when God’s people come together, we should be expressing our relationship to the God who saved us. That expression takes different forms: some people raise their hands, some might even dance, others might be more reserved.

Bethlehem Campus:

  • 9:30 – 10AM:  Is our pre-service worship; a calmer set list to help prepare our hearts and minds, as people come in and get settled.
  • 10 – 10:30AM:  Our time of praise and worship; a mixed set-list that encourages us to actively participate in what the music is saying about God and who we are as His people.

Macungie Campus:

  • 10:00 – 10:30AM:  Our time of praise and worship; a mixed set-list that encourages us to actively participate in what the music is saying about God and who we are as His people.
Prayer happens throughout our time together although we set aside time to pray for specific concerns and to ask God’s blessing over our offering. After the kids are dismissed for Sunday School, we have a few moments to connect and chat before we hear a message from the Bible.
We believe that the Bible is the living word of God – capable of speaking to us in our circumstances today. We have a 30 to 40 minute teaching from the Bible meant to challenge us intellectually and grow us spiritually no matter the spiritual background.

MISSION & VISION

Mission

To know Jesus and make Him known.

At NC4, we strive to do more than believe in Jesus, we want to truly know Jesus through a personal relationship with Him and the life-transforming power of inviting Him into every aspect of our lives, every day!

NC4 Vision 2030

NC4 is a pioneering apostolic movement multiplying mature disciples of Jesus across the Lehigh Valley.

We are a vibrant, authentic church community of over 1500 people, gathering in each other’s homes as well as four regional campuses. All cultures and generations contribute and find belonging here as a family that reflects the beautiful diversity of our cities.

Our leadership intentionally reflects that diversity and equips everyone to function as fruitful entrepreneurs in their gifts, releasing them to live on God’s mission in the world. We are therefore growing wider both by reaching new believers and revitalizing existing churches. We actively serve locally to embody God’s kingdom and partner around the world through missional relationships.

In everything we do, we drink deeply of God’s Word in scripture, valuing the life of the mind. We experience the Spirit’s transformative presence in worship, celebrating sacramentally in the arts. And we apprentice ourselves to Jesus, living with sacrificial boldness in active faith.

NC4 Doctrinal Statement

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God

We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Ghost

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory

We believe for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, of them that are saved unto the resurrection of life, of them that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ

Our Leadership Structure

We believe that a local church should be governed by local elders who have been placed in a position of oversight for that church (qualifications defined in 1 Tim 3:2-7; Titus 1:7-9).

Racial Reconciliation

In light of current events, and in the interest of unity and support for all in our community, the elders of NC4 would like to state our beliefs regarding racial reconciliation and biblical justice.

Questions

Do you have a question for us? Maybe it’s about our Sunday service, what we believe, or how to get involved in a certain ministry at NC4. Whatever it is, we encourage you to ask away!
