Hello Parents and Volunteers,
Would you please take a moment to fill out this SURVEY? We would love your feedback on Christmas Eve activity bags for next year!
A Brief Thought from Pastor Elle:
“The same life that was face to face with the Father from the beginning, has now dawned on us. The infinite life of the Father became visible before our eyes in a human person.” (1 John 1:2 Mirror Translation)
This morning I am in awe of the personhood of Jesus. He is perfect theology. He is the divine come to earth in human form. He modeled for us face-to-face living with the Father…what that looks like for us as humans. Face-to-face living demands solitude and silence and reflection. In the busyness of my life and all my to-do lists, my heart and soul cry out to “be still and know God”. I pray that we would be known as a people pursuing solitude with God above all else.
Important Reminder for Bethlehem: The Nursery (for ages 6 months -2 years old) started being staffed on January 8th and is currently open. It is located in Room #1 in the 1st Floor Hallway. Please be sure to check your children in at the check in station in the lobby!
This week, we will finish Unit 15. Watch a brief overview video of this unit below:
Unit 15:
- KEY PASSAGE: “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:13-14 (ESV)
- BIG PICTURE QUESTION: What makes people special? People are special because we are made in God’s image, as male and female, to know Him.
Last week (January 8, 2023) in Unit 15 Session #3, we learned that GOD’S PEOPLE WERE TAKEN CAPTIVE by reading 2 Chronicles 36.
- CHRIST CONNECTION: God was right to punish His people for their sin, but He kept His promise to provide a king through David’s family. Ultimately, God punished our sin through His Son, Jesus, and made Him our King forever.
The last three weeks, we have seen God’s people (the Israelites) and other people (Ninevites) turn from God and choose their own way. And yet, Psalm 139 (Key Passage) reminds us of His great love for us. He created each of us as special and valuable and wants us to choose Him, the best way. This week (January 15, 2023) in Unit 15 Session #4, we are reminded that EVERY PERSON MATTERS by reading our key passage of Psalm 139.
- CHRIST CONNECTION: Every person matters. God created us and cares for us. He sent His Son, Jesus, to save us from our sins. As we love and follow God, He calls us to love others and show respect to everyone.
