Hello Parents and Volunteers,
A Brief Thought from Pastor Elle:
Unit 16 has been all about serving the Lord even while in exile. We see examples of that in both Jeremiah and Daniel. It has made me think about the “exile” moments we may feel ourselves to be in every day. The questions we ask ourselves: “where are you in this, God?”, “why did this have to happen?”, “why does it have to be so hard?”. I’m so glad that this week’s lesson reminds us that in all of those moments, we were never once alone. God is present with us. Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man, that he might lie, or a son of man, that he might change his mind. Does he speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill?” God is faithful. We can look to the past and find a record of this truth, which means we can look to the future with continued confidence. God is not a liar. He is good and He is with us through it all.

- The Nursery at our Bethlehem Campus (for ages 6 months -2 years old) is currently open. It is located in Room #1 in the 1st Floor Hallway.
- The PreK class at Macungie Campus raised enough money to bless a family with a chicken through Compassion International!

Last week (February 5, 2023) in Unit 16 Session #3, we learned that DANIEL SERVED GOD as we read parts of Daniel 5.
- CHRIST CONNECTION: God humbled the proud king of Babylon by taking away his kingdom. King Jesus willingly humbled Himself by dying on the cross for our sin. God raised up Jesus and gave Him honor forever. When we humble ourselves and trust in Jesus, God will raise us up to enjoy Jesus in His kingdom forever.
This week (February 12, 2023) in Unit 16 Session #4, we learn that GOD IS PRESENT WITH US as we read Isaiah 7.
- KEY PASSAGE: “The Lord your God is among you, a might warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will quiet you in His love. He will delight in you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 (CSB)
- BIG PICTURE QUESTION: Where is God? God is in all places at all times and is always with His people.
- CHRIST CONNECTION: God is present with us. He sent prophets to His people, even in captivity, and promised to send Immanuel, which means “God with us.” Jesus fulfilled this promise when He came to earth and was born of a virgin. Jesus is our Immanuel, God with us.
