Hello Parents and Volunteers,
There will be NO Sunday school for the Middle Schoolers this coming Sunday; many of them will be at the Youth Retreat. Please be praying for the kids to encounter God, grow friendships, and for safety!
We’re continuing Unit 19! Until June 4th, we will be learning about how Jesus was Prepared for Ministry.

Last week (April 30, 2023) in Unit 19 Session 2, we learned that JESUS WAS DEDICATED by reading Matthew 2 and Luke 2.
- CHRIST CONNECTION: Throughout the Old Testament, God promised the arrival of a King who would redeem people. When Jesus arrived, Simeon and Anna knew He was the promised Messiah, God’s own Son. We can trust Jesus for our salvation, and like Simeon and Anna, we should share the good news.
This week (May 7, 2023) in Unit 19 Session 3, we will learn that JESUS WAS BAPTIZED by reading Matthew 3 and Mark 1.
- KEY PASSAGE: “The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29 (ESV)
- BIG PICTURE QUESTION: What did Jesus do to save us? Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose from the dead.
- CHRIST CONNECTION: Jesus never sinned, but He obeyed God and was baptized like sinners are baptized. Baptism reminds us of Jesus’ death and resurrection. It reminds us that when we trust in Jesus, we turn from sin and start a new life—a life lived for Jesus.
