Ministries

NC4 offers many ways to receive care or to plug in and serve, using your gifts and talents to share the love of Christ. Read on to see what’s right for you.

ALPHA

Alpha

ALPHA is a 10-week course designed for people who are interested in investigating Christianity and want answers to basic questions. There is no prerequisite other than a curiosity about God, Christianity, or things Christians believe. If you are a new to the church, a new believer, someone who doesn’t know what to believe, or just want to brush up on the basics, this is a great course to be in. We start off with a meal together, followed by a 30-minute video and group discussion. We discuss topics like who is Jesus, why did Jesus die, why and how do I pray, does God heal today, and many others.

ARTS MINISTRIES

NC4 has several ministries the embrace artistic expression. For more information on these ministries, please visit their home pages or contact the ministry leaders.

ASSIMILATION (GREETING, HOSTING, GUEST CONTACT, etc.)

The Assimilation Ministry endeavors to make everyone feel welcome and safe when they visit NC4. Our hope is for people to meet others, connect as quickly and easily as possible, and then get involved in ministry.

DISCIPLE ZONE (SUNDAY SCHOOL)

Disciple Zone

The mission of our Disciple Zone (Sunday school) program is to supplement and reinforce family Christian education with a biblically-based curriculum. Children go to either the first-floor or Fellowship Hall (lower floor) classrooms during the message for age-appropriate instruction and interaction, typically for 45-60 minutes. Children tend to find our Disciple Zone program welcoming, fun, and inspirational.

DEACONS (FINANCIAL)

The Deacon Board provides biblical accountability for the funds of the church with a primary focus on benevolence; that is, determining how to help individuals or families in financial crisis, and teaching the principles of good stewardship and budgeting.

EVANGELISM

The purpose of our evangelism ministry is to infuse, in everything that NC4 does, a desire for reaching out to those who don’t know Christ.

FACILITY TEAM

The Facility Team ensures that NC4’s facilities are safe, clean, functional and attractive. They also coordinate the scheduling of the building and its various meeting rooms.

GRIEFSHARE

griefshare

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone.

You’ll gain access to valuable GriefShare resources to help you recover from your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life. GriefShare is a 13-week course designed for people who are suffering through the loss of a loved one.

KITCHEN TEAM

The Kitchen Team coordinates and prepares meals for church-sponsored meetings, conferences and events.

LOCAL MISSIONS (COMMUNITY OUTREACH)

local-missions

The Local Missions ministry specializes in the practical outworking of our Christian living by focused interaction with the community we live and work in, providing individuals and teams with opportunities to serve the needs of the community in many practical ways.

MANNA MINISTRY (MEALS FOR MEMBERS IN NEED)

When faced with a crisis (healthcare issues, the death of a loved one, etc.), or a special event like the birth of a child, it is often very helpful when others lend a hand by assisting with the family’s dinner preparation. The Manna ministry provides meals to members of NC4 when such a need arises.

MARRIAGE & FAMILY MINISTRY

Marriage

The Marriage & Family Ministry provides training, encouragement, and mentoring to make good marriages great and unhealthy marriages healthy again.

MEN’S MINISTRY

Men's Ministry

Our men’s ministry provides opportunities for men 18 and older to fellowship in an atmosphere of acceptance and encouragement in order to build one another up in the faith. The priority of this ministry is to equip our men to be effective husbands and fathers and strong role models in their homes. We focus heavily on issues of sexual purity and fathering.

MISSIONS

At NC4, we believe we are required by scripture to further the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to people groups that are beyond the limitations and boundaries of our own culture. Accordingly, we have three teams that oversee missions:

  1. Short-term Missions – oversight of all short-term missions (any mission trip shorter than one year). We typically visit 4-6 locations each year. Leader: Chris Templeton
  2. Missionary Care - Oversight of our missionaries on the field. Leader: Samatha Heaney
  3. Missionaries at Home - identifies and guides NC4 members contemplating the call to cross-cultural missions. They will also help and minister to any NC4 members who are missionaries in various stages of re-entry. Leader: TBD

MOPS (MOTHERS OF PRE-SCHOOLERS)

MOPS

NC4 has a MOPS program that supports all mothers with pre-schoolers. Moms who participate in this program establish relationships and receive support in a caring atmosphere that’s tuned for today's mother of young children -- and they love it!

NURSERY

NC4 offers a safe and caring Nursery for children ages 0-2 during services and most special events.

PROPHETIC MINISTRY

The Prophetic Ministry exists to encourage and train individuals in the proper and effective use of the gift of prophecy – hearing from God. Additionally, seasoned team members help those who have received a prophetic word to interpret and respond in a healthy, biblical way.

POWER BOOT CAMP

PBC crop for ministries page

This is a safe place to cultivate the gift of prophecy. The Apostle Paul teaches to "earnestly desire to prophesy" but also urges us to do so "decently and in order." 1Cor. 14:1, 39-40.

PNEUMA (TEEN YOUTH)

Pneuma

We offer an exciting Bible-based youth program for grades 6-12 on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM during the school year. Our weekly meetings include worship, prayer, group teachings, small group participation, games, snacks and fellowship. Junior & Senior high groups are divided for most of the teachings and prayers. There are also several special events, conferences and retreats throughout the year.

PRAYER MINISTRY

The NC4 Prayer Ministry organizes corporate prayer, communicates emergency prayer requests, and equips members in the various forms of prayer, e.g. intercessory, deliverance, healing, etc.

PRISON MINISTRY

We go to Northampton County Prison every Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. and do Bible study & worship with male and female inmates. We also do a church service on the second Sunday of every month and from 2:15-3:25 p.m. Our goal is to reach the lost and least of the community and bring the message of the hope and life that is in Jesus Christ.

WORSHIP TEAM

We believe that when God’s people come together, they should be expressing joy to the God of their salvation. As such, our worship takes on the tenure of the Old and New Testaments, where the people of God expressed themselves with musical instruments, singing, dancing, clapping, lifting of hands, and other outward expressions of love and appreciation for God’s goodness in our lives. Everyone who comes to our meetings is encouraged to participate and freely express the joy they have received in being a part of the body of Christ.

YOUNG ADULTS

young-adults

This fellowship is for any young adult, going to school or working, married or single from ages ranging 18 to 30-ish. You do not have to be a member of NC4. Members of other churches are welcome. Anyone not currently attending a church is welcome too!
